Rifle Range Corner, Cannock Chase
Rifle Range Corner, Cannock Chase
A group/social run around the Cannock 50 route. The run will be a 10 mile lap on the planned route the for the Cannock 50 event. I'm being helped by the amazing Cannock Chase Trail Runners who will help with leading the groups. You run at your own risk, this is a social run, not an event. As locals who know the trails they'll help guide you round the route - and let you know once the big hills have finished (hint - they never do!!). They aren't going to act as a mule or carry you up the hills though - so come prepared!
We will be heading off at 09:00, there is no waiting for late comers! This part of the forest isn't near any cafes so if you want to stay for a post run coffee and cake bring some with you along with appropriate warm clothing.
During sign up you'll be asked for your current 10K time. This is to allow me to split the groups in 2, effectivly a faster and slower group. It makes no difference which group you are in. The route will be the same but having 2 groups will hopefuly allow you to run at your social pace.
I strongly suggest you download the route from the event page at bigbearevents.net. You'll be with others but given the expansive nature of Cannock Chase having the route is advisable.
There are many parking areas at Cannock but the best spot to park is the Penkridge Bank Car Park on Penkridge Bank. It's free to do so. We will actually start from the Rifle Range Corner car park but it is quite small so likely to fill up.
If you sign up and subsequently no longer intend on coming let me know and I can remove you from the start list. It also frees up spots for others and will stop you getting emails too!
